Vincent Frei sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Lachen HC's zone, Pierre Restle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Philo Banz came out of the goal and Pierre Restle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pierre Restle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Philo Banz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 16th minute, Gunter Vonrotz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Philo Banz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Gunter Vonrotz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Waltenschwil's supporters rose to their feet, but Gunter Vonrotz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Philo Banz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Philo Banz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pierre Restle in the 21st minute of play. Salvatore Lessard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 28 minutes into the match, Lachen HC's goal looked a bit too open when Gunter Vonrotz came free, but Philo Banz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Vincent Frei kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Stefan Gonzales. That made the score 1-1 in the 31 minute of play. Salvatore Lessard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Stefan Gonzales tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Philo Banz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pierre Restle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gunter Vonrotz made a kick off. With a little luck, Lachen HC's Philo Banz got control of the ball when Pierre Restle tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 54th minute, Waltenschwil's Pierre Restle ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Philo Banz. Philo Banz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Stefan Gonzales took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Salvatore Lessard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stefan Gonzales made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vincent Frei in the 65th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, Lachen HC's goalkeeper Philo Banz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pierre Restle. In the 71st match minute, Lachen HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pete Zimmermann to maneuver through the defense. In the 72nd minute, Lachen HC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gunter Vonrotz fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 75 minutes into the game, Sylvester Vicente recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Philo Banz. Sylvester Vicente showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. Vincent Frei received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Lachen HC's Philo Banz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Lachen HC from getting a goal against them. The Waltenschwil players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
