In the 8th minute, Wilbur Hänggi made a precise shot to the right of Arturo Figini. Neyruz SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Valens's zone, Raphael Schmidlin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcel Hirter came out of the goal and Raphael Schmidlin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arturo Figini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lorenzo Hitz in the 14th minute of the match. Basilius Caron kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Lorenzo Hitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Arturo Figini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilbur Hänggi in the 21st minute of play forced Neyruz SC's goalkeeper Arturo Figini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Odin Shuster kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marcel Hirter. That made the score 1-1 in the 24 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lorenzo Hitz in the 30th minute of play forced Neyruz SC's goalkeeper Arturo Figini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcel Hirter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Odin Shuster in the 33rd minute of the match. Lorenzo Hitz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arturo Figini having to interfere. Odin Shuster sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 42nd minute, Odin Shuster fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Marcel Hirter, passed just outside the right post. After some careless play in the Valens defense, Raphael Schmidlin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcel Hirter. The Valens fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcel Hirter should have stopped the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Odin Shuster to make the kick off. Beniamino Schaerer charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Beniamino Schaerer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The goalkeeper, Arturo Figini, was totally fooled by Valens's Brian Ciprella, who 52 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. A collision led to Neyruz SC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Odin Shuster hit a great ball. Arturo Figini made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wilbur Hänggi in the 58th minute. The supporters of Valens booed when Neyruz SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elmar Allmen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wilbur Hänggi in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arturo Figini prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Wilbur Hänggi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Arturo Figini made a huge save. Valens's Marcel Hirter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raphael Schmidlin in the 70th minute of play. A collision led to Valens getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Olaf Buser hit a great ball. In the 77th match minute, Valens was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olaf Buser to maneuver through the defense. Arturo Figini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lorenzo Hitz in the 81st minute of the match. In the 86th minute Lorenzo Hitz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arturo Figini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Neyruz SC's Geoffroy Weltert got a free kick in the 86th minute. In the 90th minute, Laurentius Leuenberger ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arturo Figini was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. If Lorenzo Hitz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arturo Figini was a little too slow when Lorenzo Hitz got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 96th minute. The score was now 2-4.
