Falco Hofstetter made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The audience was convinced that Arturo Kupper's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Falco Hofstetter was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. Falco Hofstetter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arturo Kupper, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arturo Kupper's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Falco Hofstetter read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. In the 20thth minute of the game Caspar Bleyer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Morcote's Falco Hofstetter was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Norbert Girardelli charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Norbert Girardelli the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Morcote's Norbert Girardelli got a free kick in the 23rd minute. 25 minutes into the match, Morcote's goal looked a bit too open when Arturo Kupper came free, but Falco Hofstetter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Arturo Kupper had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arturo Kupper in the 28th minute of play forced Morcote's goalkeeper Falco Hofstetter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Axel Ineichen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Dinamo St.Gallen getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Forrester Schlafli hit a great ball. Arturo Kupper sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37th minute, Caspar Bleyer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Falco Hofstetter was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Morcote's Falco Hofstetter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caspar Bleyer in the 42nd minute of play. Caspar Bleyer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Falco Hofstetter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arturo Kupper took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Falco Hofstetter. Falco Hofstetter dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arturo Kupper to make the kick off. Falco Hofstetter made an important save on a dangerous shot by Caspar Bleyer in the 52nd minute. Arturo Kupper had several of the Morcote's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 52 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-5 score and a disappointed Falco Hofstetter as he didn't even see the shot coming. Falco Hofstetter made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Caspar Bleyer sent off a good shot on target. In the 61st minute, Norbert Girardelli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Arturo Kupper came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Dinamo St.Gallen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arturo Kupper couldn't finish the play. In the 67th minute, Dinamo St.Gallen's Arturo Kupper ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Falco Hofstetter. Falco Hofstetter yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-6. Falco Hofstetter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arturo Kupper in the 70th minute of play. Caspar Bleyer's late challenge caught a Morcote's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Caspar Bleyer helped the player get up and apologised. Falco Hofstetter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Ineichen in the 89th minute of the match.
