Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Kenan Drechsler kicked off to start the match. In the 21stth minute of the game Kenan Drechsler who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Renens's Silvanus Bianco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kenan Drechsler in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Silvanus Bianco saved Renens from getting behind. In the 24thth minute of the game Kenan Drechsler who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Renens's Silvanus Bianco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Francois Salvatei sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Kenan Drechsler's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Silvanus Bianco was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Rinaldo Wiler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Miguel Emmenegger during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Renens's Miguel Emmenegger got a free kick in the 36th minute. After 38 played minutes Renens got a freekick which was hit by Kurt Wigger. Silvanus Bianco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dolf Dietrich, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Kenan Drechsler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.

Kenan Drechsler got in the 50th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Silvanus Bianco handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. 55 minutes into the match, FC Basel's goal looked a bit too open when Miguel Emmenegger came free, but Mickey Ruhle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 56th minute, Kenan Drechsler made a precise shot to the right of Silvanus Bianco. Renens's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kenan Drechsler in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Silvanus Bianco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Francois Salvatei managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Basel's supporters rose to their feet, but Francois Salvatei was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silvanus Bianco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kenan Drechsler's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 88thth minute, Silvanus Bianco skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Francois Salvatei sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Kenan Drechsler who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 94thth minute tested the skills of Silvanus Bianco when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Kenan Drechsler in the 95thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Silvanus Bianco, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. FC Basel's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
