Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Paolo Desnoyers kicked off to start the match. After 6 played minutes FC Basel got a freekick which was hit by Solomon Meyer. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Francois Salvatei took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Simone Hébert to make any attempt to save it. Kenan Drechsler received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Simone Hébert came out and tried to block the shot, but Kenan Drechsler slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 13th minute. With a little luck, Luzein HC's Simone Hébert got control of the ball when Francois Salvatei tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ramon Fortin made a great header on FC Basel's corner, it was just that Luzein HC's Simone Hébert managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 21st minute, Kenan Drechsler ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Simone Hébert was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. After 24 played minutes Luzein HC got a freekick which was hit by Emiliano Ceroli. With his leg Simone Hébert managed to avoid a goal in the 26thth minute, when FC Basel's Kenan Drechsler fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 27 minutes into the game, FC Basel's Francois Salvatei nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Simone Hébert made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rinaldo Wiler got free with Simone Hébert in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Luzein HC's Simone Hébert got control of the ball when Kenan Drechsler tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Kenan Drechsler put it in 6-0 from a short distance just to the right of Simone Hébert. Francois Salvatei took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Simone Hébert. Simone Hébert dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. With a little luck, Luzein HC's Simone Hébert got control of the ball when Kenan Drechsler tried to sneak it across the goal line. Francois Salvatei's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Simone Hébert read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 8-0 at half-time.

The FC Basel fans' excitement grew in the 52nd match minute when FC Basel's Kenan Drechsler looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 9-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When Andre Kurmann came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the FC Basel fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andre Kurmann couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kenan Drechsler in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Simone Hébert prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 59th match minute, Luzein HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emiliano Ceroli to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kenan Drechsler in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Simone Hébert saved Luzein HC from getting behind. Kenan Drechsler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Simone Hébert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kenan Drechsler scored 10-0 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Simone Hébert, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Simone Hébert came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Basel's Kenan Drechsler. But to his dismay, Kenan Drechsler quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 11-0. The audience was convinced that Kenan Drechsler's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Simone Hébert was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. Francois Salvatei sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Simone Hébert made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kenan Drechsler in the 91st minute of play. FC Basel's Dolf Dietrich got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 94th minute, Melchior Hurni hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 96 minutes into the game, Melchior Hurni was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Luzein HC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Basel the free kick. Melchior Hurni hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match.
