The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fremont Burkhart was the one to do the kick off. Donato Gilli's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Patrick Mansueti firmly grabbed it by the left post. Rainer Sonsini struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Patrick Mansueti didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Basel 1982. In the 66th minute Rachid Richli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mischa Rutsch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Donato Gilli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 69 minutes in the game, Donato Gilli fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Patrick Mansueti having to interfere. Fremont Burkhart fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mischa Rutsch having to interfere. The supporters of Kalchstätten booed when FC Basel 1982 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thorsten Füglister didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kalchstätten's Rachid Richli got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Patrick Mansueti, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 91 played minutes Kalchstätten got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Burkart. If Fremont Burkhart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
