Mathieu Schwander dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 13th match minute, FC STECKBORN was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Davide Bütler to maneuver through the defense. Guy Zumsteg might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Keith Lejeune. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Guy Zumsteg ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Guy Zumsteg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Keith Lejeune was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. 25 minutes into the match, FC AARAU's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Herzog came free, but Keith Lejeune reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Keith Lejeune made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Herzog in the 33rd minute of play. After 35 minutes of play, FC STECKBORN's Guy Zumsteg made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Keith Lejeune was left in no man's land by his defense there! FC AARAU's Keith Lejeune played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guy Zumsteg in the 41st minute of play. Mathieu Schwander made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Amos Mändli sent off a good shot on target.

Gerd Beller hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. 56 minutes into the match, FC STECKBORN's goal looked a bit too open when Dominique Joho came free, but Mathieu Schwander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 57 played minutes FC STECKBORN got a freekick which was hit by Frankie Massey. Amos Mändli's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mathieu Schwander read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. A collision led to FC STECKBORN getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Davide Bütler hit a great ball. When Dominique Joho came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the FC AARAU fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dominique Joho couldn't finish the play. Manuel Herzog could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Keith Lejeune made a huge save. Keith Lejeune showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guy Zumsteg, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. When Manuel Herzog came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the FC STECKBORN fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manuel Herzog couldn't finish the play. The supporters of FC STECKBORN booed when FC AARAU was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roby Sommerhalder didn't get a good kick on the ball. Matteo von Arb kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. FC STECKBORN were awarded a corner in the 82th minute after FC AARAU's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Stefan Richli took the corner. FC STECKBORN's Stefan Richli was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Keith Lejeune in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Guy Zumsteg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Keith Lejeune tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 88 minutes, Marcel Steffen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC AARAU and the FC STECKBORN players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee gave FC STECKBORN a penalty, 89 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Stefan Richli, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of FC AARAU's Keith Lejeune. 2-2. Manuel Herzog fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Keith Lejeune having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guy Zumsteg in the 96th minute of play forced FC AARAU's goalkeeper Keith Lejeune to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amos Mändli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mathieu Schwander having to interfere. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
