After a rather tough play, FC Sälihof's Norman Picca got a free kick in the 13th minute. Oluf Kreienbühl struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Jamal Jeanquartier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Sälihof. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hardy Zimmermann in the 19th minute of play forced FC Slayer-King's goalkeeper Jamal Jeanquartier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Alexandre Rüdemann came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the FC Slayer-King fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexandre Rüdemann couldn't finish the play. Alexandre Rüdemann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Poldi Bärtschi having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oluf Kreienbühl in the 28th minute of play forced FC Slayer-King's goalkeeper Jamal Jeanquartier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Armin Schwab charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Armin Schwab the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of FC Slayer-King booed when FC Sälihof was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armin Schwab didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Roberto Claude managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Slayer-King's supporters rose to their feet, but Roberto Claude was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Poldi Bärtschi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 42 minutes into the match, Cody Cicchetti had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Poldi Bärtschi. FC Sälihof's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cody Cicchetti was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Oluf Kreienbühl might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jamal Jeanquartier. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Oluf Kreienbühl ran back to his position shaking his head. Roberto Claude's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Poldi Bärtschi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. Gerulf Wider succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 62nd playminute.
