Nino Pfiffer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Belfaux AC's zone, eAntonio Cristallini stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nino Pfiffer came out of the goal and eAntonio Cristallini tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Dieter Suppiger's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nino Pfiffer was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. The supporters of Stein am Rhein booed when Belfaux AC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Charlie Waltispühl didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dieter Suppiger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nino Pfiffer having to interfere. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dieter Suppiger ran back to his position shaking his head. Dieter Suppiger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 47 minutes into the match, eAntonio Cristallini had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nino Pfiffer. Belfaux AC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that eAntonio Cristallini was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Beniamino Sankt to make the kick off. If eAntonio Cristallini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Charlie Waltispühl hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Stein am Rhein's Dieter Suppiger slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nino Pfiffer. That made the score 0-2 after 58 minutes of play. In the 62nd minute, Stein am Rhein's Dieter Suppiger ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nino Pfiffer. Nino Pfiffer yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. Belfaux AC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Dieter Suppiger 66 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-4. After a defensive mix-up in Belfaux AC's zone, eAntonio Cristallini stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nino Pfiffer came out of the goal and eAntonio Cristallini tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 82 minutes into the game, Dieter Suppiger recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nino Pfiffer. Dieter Suppiger showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6. Nino Pfiffer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dieter Suppiger in the 91st minute of play. Stein am Rhein's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
