When Raymond Thürig fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cagnagob's protests and gave Raymond Thürig a yellow card for diving instead. In the 15th minute, Raymond Thürig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 19th minute Michele Abend shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Netzer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 21 minutes into the match, Cagnagob's goal looked a bit too open when Lajos Besse came free, but Jan Netzer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Federico Rütsche stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Patrizius Lampron's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. After 28 minutes of play, Cagnagob's Helmuth Siedler made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Federico Rütsche was left in no man's land by his defense there! Patrizius Lampron's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Federico Rütsche read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Cagnagob's Nicolas Rhéaume sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Federico Rütsche narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Spencer Schär during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Federico Rütsche stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Patrizius Lampron's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. Hannes Steinemann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Federico Rütsche having to interfere. Matthias Felder hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Patrizius Lampron struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Federico Rütsche didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cagnagob. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Patrizius Lampron put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Federico Rütsche. When Michele Abend came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Udinese fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Michele Abend couldn't finish the play. In the 75th minute of the match, Michele Abend tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jan Netzer saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Patrizius Lampron sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Patrizius Lampron managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cagnagob's supporters rose to their feet, but Patrizius Lampron was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Federico Rütsche breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Patrizius Lampron in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Federico Rütsche saved Udinese from getting behind. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Cagnagob fully deserved thier win.
