Spectators: 6770 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1770, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Owen Jurt got the match started through his kick off. Josef Vaillancourt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marvin Lindenmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 13 minutes into the match, FC Sion's goal looked a bit too open when Sergius Labrie came free, but Josef Vaillancourt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eugene Hediger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Raul Wegmüller had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Sion's Josef Vaillancourt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save FC Sion from getting a goal against them. Eugene Hediger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Germano Balmer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC Sion's Josef Vaillancourt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save FC Sion from getting a goal against them. After having played for 39 minutes, Raul Wegmüller managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Isenfluh's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raul Wegmüller was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 41st minute Sergius Labrie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Josef Vaillancourt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Sergius Labrie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sergius Labrie made a kick off. Sergius Labrie's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Josef Vaillancourt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. Raul Wegmüller struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Josef Vaillancourt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Isenfluh. 69 minutes into the game, Eugene Hediger was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Sion's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Isenfluh the free kick. After 69 played minutes FC Sion got a freekick which was hit by Eugene Hediger. 70 minutes into the match, FC Sion's goal looked a bit too open when Sergius Labrie came free, but Josef Vaillancourt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Raul Wegmüller sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Josef Vaillancourt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergius Labrie in the 82nd minute of play. Raul Wegmüller recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Raul Wegmüller sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Raul Wegmüller had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Isenfluh fans cheered their team off the field, for while FC Sion had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
