Spectators: 7505 (Terracing: 5625, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 155) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Owen Jurt took the kick off in the first half of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Michael Kronenberg got free with Josef Vaillancourt in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to FC Sion getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Eugene Hediger hit a great ball. Lukas Schifferli took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 12th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Josef Vaillancourt. FC Sion's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Magnus Perathoner received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Josef Vaillancourt came out and tried to block the shot, but Magnus Perathoner slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 14th minute. Magnus Perathoner recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Josef Vaillancourt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Magnus Perathoner, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. After a rather tough play, FC Sion's Eugene Hediger got a free kick in the 21st minute. 22 minutes into the match, FC Luna's Lukas Schifferli broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Reiner Blum sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Magnus Perathoner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josef Vaillancourt having to interfere. Josef Vaillancourt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Magnus Perathoner's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. Josef Vaillancourt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Magnus Perathoner in the 31st minute of play. In the 35th minute, FC Luna's Magnus Perathoner ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Josef Vaillancourt. Josef Vaillancourt yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. 39 minutes into the match, FC Luna's Matthias Sulliger sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Josef Vaillancourt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Owen Jurt during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to FC Sion getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Owen Jurt hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Reiner Blum managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Luna's supporters rose to their feet, but Reiner Blum was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Josef Vaillancourt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Josef Vaillancourt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Magnus Perathoner in the 47th minute of the match.

The wind increased when Magnus Perathoner made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reiner Blum in the 52nd minute of play forced FC Sion's goalkeeper Josef Vaillancourt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reiner Blum received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Josef Vaillancourt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Magnus Perathoner in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Josef Vaillancourt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. FC Sion's Josef Vaillancourt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reiner Blum in the 65th minute of play. Magnus Perathoner might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Josef Vaillancourt. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Magnus Perathoner ran back to his position shaking his head. FC Sion's Josef Vaillancourt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reiner Blum in the 70th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Magnus Perathoner in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Josef Vaillancourt saved FC Sion from getting behind. Josef Vaillancourt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Magnus Perathoner in the 74th minute of play. Reiner Blum's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Josef Vaillancourt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. In the 77th minute Magnus Perathoner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Josef Vaillancourt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Sion's Josef Vaillancourt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Magnus Perathoner in the 81st minute of play. Reiner Blum sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Reiner Blum blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Josef Vaillancourt having to make a save. Owen Jurt kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. FC Luna's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Lukas Schifferli in the 90th minute. Lukas Schifferli made a great header on FC Luna's corner, it was just that FC Sion's Josef Vaillancourt managed to reach the ball for a save. For all the effort they put into the match, the FC Sion players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for FC Luna.
