Cagliari's defense didn't have a chance, in the 63rd minute, when Franklin Zellweger scored to the left of an out of position Peter Lussier, making the score, 1-3. 74 minutes into the match, Cagliari's goalkeeper Peter Lussier had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Denis Brandini. 1-5 became the score in the 77th minute when Alexis Frischknecht elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 81 minutes into the game, Cagliari's Jules Wiss nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tristan Blaser made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-5. Cagliari's Peter Lussier proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Cagliari from getting a goal against them. Peter Lussier was a little too slow when Fabrice Lüpold got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 92nd minute. The score was now 2-6.
