Spectators: 7535 (Terracing: 5767, Seating: 1768, VIP seats: 0) Hrvatska's Paulo Drechsler started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the Hrvatska defense, Farid Merz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Timoteo Mela. The Hrvatska fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Timoteo Mela should have stopped the shot. Farid Merz came free with the goalkeeper in the 6th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Timoteo Mela could save by the left post. In the 9th minute Paulo Drechsler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matteo Gloeckner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chip Zeier lost his temper 11 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Hrvatska's Timoteo Mela proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Hrvatska from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Uriel Melone in the 20th minute of play forced Gampel's goalkeeper Matteo Gloeckner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Yannick Couturier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herman Wiprächtiger in the 24th minute of play forced Hrvatska's goalkeeper Timoteo Mela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hrvatska's Timoteo Mela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bert Kappel in the 29th minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Farid Merz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Timoteo Mela was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. If Uriel Melone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Uriel Melone recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Matteo Gloeckner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yannick Couturier, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Matteo Gloeckner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tibor Waltispühl, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Timoteo Mela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bert Kappel in the 52nd minute of play. 53 minutes into the match, Hrvatska's goal looked a bit too open when Farid Merz came free, but Timoteo Mela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Uriel Melone managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hrvatska's supporters rose to their feet, but Uriel Melone was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Matteo Gloeckner breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Timoteo Mela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bert Kappel, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Hrvatska's Timoteo Mela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Farid Merz in the 61st minute of play. Timoteo Mela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herman Wiprächtiger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 83 minutes into the game, Jarrett von Arb was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gampel's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hrvatska the free kick. Joey Zwygart was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 84th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Uriel Melone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Gampel's Jarrett von Arb got a free kick in the 89th minute. Timoteo Mela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Farid Merz, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. 94 minutes into the match, Hrvatska's goal looked a bit too open when Herman Wiprächtiger came free, but Timoteo Mela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
