With his leg Arrigo Thelen managed to avoid a goal in the 10thth minute, when MUtti's Giancarlo Lehmann fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Rolf Bolliger might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arrigo Thelen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rolf Bolliger ran back to his position shaking his head. If Rolf Bolliger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Giancarlo Lehmann managed to get in a good position for a shot. MUtti's supporters rose to their feet, but Giancarlo Lehmann was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arrigo Thelen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
