After 2 played minutes Egerkingen got a freekick which was hit by Lukas Goetschi. Neil Graf received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rudolph Merki came out and tried to block the shot, but Neil Graf slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 5th minute. Neil Graf received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Rudolph Merki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rudolph Merki didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when BENFICA's Peder Nietlisbach shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-0 in the ordered_time% minute. Neil Graf received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Rudolph Merki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Peder Nietlisbach could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Rudolph Merki made a huge save. Rodrigo Dresdner kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Sylvester Studhalter hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Egerkingen's Rudolph Merki proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Egerkingen from getting a goal against them. Jost Oehen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amadeo Eggenschwiler, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. With a little luck, Egerkingen's Rudolph Merki got control of the ball when Sylvester Studhalter tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 32 played minutes Egerkingen got a freekick which was hit by Lukas Goetschi. A hard shot 37 in the game by Neil Graf from a close distance when the talented Rudolph Merki managed to make a qualified save. Egerkingen's players were relieved. After a defensive mix-up in Egerkingen's zone, Sylvester Studhalter stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rudolph Merki came out of the goal and Sylvester Studhalter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. BENFICA's Peder Nietlisbach got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sylvester Studhalter blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rudolph Merki having to make a save. After 47 minutes of play, Egerkingen's Stig Bürgin made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jost Oehen was left in no man's land by his defense there! All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Amadeo Eggenschwiler stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stig Bürgin got free with Jost Oehen in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. BENFICA's Jost Oehen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amadeo Eggenschwiler in the 56th minute of play. Rudolph Merki came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by BENFICA's Neil Graf. But to his dismay, Neil Graf quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Rodrigo Dresdner hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Rudolph Merki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peder Nietlisbach, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rudolph Merki came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by BENFICA's Sylvester Studhalter. But to his dismay, Sylvester Studhalter quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. Peder Nietlisbach fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rudolph Merki having to interfere. If Peder Nietlisbach had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rudolph Merki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sylvester Studhalter, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. BENFICA's defense didn't have a chance, in the 88th minute, when Stig Bürgin scored to the left of an out of position Jost Oehen, making the score, 5-2. After 91 minutes, Stig Bürgin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Egerkingen and the BENFICA players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 91st match minute, Egerkingen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stig Bürgin to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jose Mathis during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 94th minute, Jose Mathis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. BENFICA's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
