He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Grasshopper Club Zürich reached it. Rodolphe Donsante could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Volker Meyer made a huge save. The supporters of Grasshopper Club Zürich booed when Ligerz FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dennis Marfurt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Grasshopper Club Zürich's Dylan Zuber got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Volker Meyer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Volker Meyer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dylan Zuber in the 23rd minute of play. Dennis Marfurt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dylan Zuber in the 31st minute of play forced Ligerz FC's goalkeeper Volker Meyer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 40 minutes into the match, Ligerz FC's goalkeeper Volker Meyer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rodolphe Donsante. In the 41st minute of the match, Dylan Zuber tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Volker Meyer saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Ligerz FC's Volker Meyer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dylan Zuber in the 44th minute of play.

The Grasshopper Club Zürich fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luca Wurfel should have stopped the shot. Volker Meyer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodolphe Donsante in the 71st minute of play. When Josef Tétrault came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Grasshopper Club Zürich fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Josef Tétrault couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Ligerz FC getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Nicola Schwyter hit a great ball. Dennis Marfurt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Luca Wurfel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leonard Winiker received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Luca Wurfel came out and tried to block the shot, but Leonard Winiker slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 93rd minute. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
