After 40 minutes of play, Ligerz FC's Raphael Clementia made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hamlet Frei was left in no man's land by his defense there! 45 minutes into the game, Horace Schätzle cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Volker Meyer was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The referee ignored Ligerz FC's protests and gave Williams Baumann a yellow card for diving instead. Williams Baumann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dennis Marfurt in the 83rd minute of play forced FC Ibach's goalkeeper Hamlet Frei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Williams Baumann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
