Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Dylan Zuber kicked off to start the match. When Rodolphe Donsante came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Grasshopper Club Zürich fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodolphe Donsante couldn't finish the play. Dennis Marfurt hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Dylan Zuber sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 24th minute Rodolphe Donsante shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Volker Meyer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Ligerz FC booed when Grasshopper Club Zürich was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josef Tétrault didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ligerz FC were furious when Arthur Gärtner was red carded, 29 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ligerz FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 29th minute. Penalty! Volker Meyer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dylan Zuber, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Grasshopper Club Zürich's Rodolphe Donsante got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ligerz FC's Volker Meyer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dylan Zuber in the 41st minute of play. Volker Meyer didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dylan Zuber went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Williams Baumann stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Volker Meyer made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Rodolphe Donsante sent off a good shot on target. Ligerz FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 61st minute, when Dylan Zuber scored to the left of an out of position Volker Meyer, making the score, 1-4. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dylan Zuber in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Volker Meyer saved Ligerz FC from getting behind. Volker Meyer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dylan Zuber, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Grasshopper Club Zürich's Rodolphe Donsante got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Williams Baumann charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Williams Baumann the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Ligerz FC getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Williams Baumann hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ligerz FC's zone, Josef Tétrault stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Volker Meyer came out of the goal and Josef Tétrault tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leonard Winiker hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. 77 minutes into the match, Ligerz FC's goalkeeper Volker Meyer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rodolphe Donsante. In the 79th minute of the match, Dylan Zuber tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Volker Meyer saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Rodolphe Donsante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Volker Meyer having to interfere. Dennis Marfurt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Luca Wurfel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dylan Zuber might have been able to make a better finish in the 97th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Volker Meyer. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dylan Zuber ran back to his position shaking his head. The Grasshopper Club Zürich supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Grasshopper Club Zürich would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
