Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Manolo Bollhalder started the match with the kick off. In the 7thth minute of the game Manolo Bollhalder who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Oberwil's Pier Lauzier was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Pier Lauzier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manolo Bollhalder in the 9th minute of the match. In the 9th match minute, FC Oberwil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ansgar Röösli to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Kickers Luzern getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Carlo Zuber hit a great ball. 16 minutes into the match, FC Oberwil's goal looked a bit too open when Manolo Bollhalder came free, but Pier Lauzier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Ferdinand Vonarburg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ferdinand Vonarburg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pier Lauzier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manolo Bollhalder, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. After 34 played minutes FC Oberwil got a freekick which was hit by Germain Ackerman. Dave Bremgartner missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 35 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Pier Lauzier right hand side. Ferdinand Vonarburgs short, quick shot in the 38thth minute got Daniel Ehrlichmann to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. FC Oberwil's Pier Lauzier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manolo Bollhalder in the 39th minute of play. In the 40th match minute, FC Oberwil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elijah Cacciatore to maneuver through the defense. 42 minutes into the game, Johnny Högger was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kickers Luzern's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Oberwil the free kick. After 42 played minutes Kickers Luzern got a freekick which was hit by Johnny Högger. Manolo Bollhalder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Pier Lauzier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Kickers Luzern were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bruce Bächler to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Kickers Luzern's Leif Borer got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Ferdinand Vonarburg scored 1-1 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Daniel Ehrlichmann, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Johnny Högger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Pier Lauzier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Ehrlichmann didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ferdinand Vonarburg went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Pier Lauzier made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Johnny Högger sent off a good shot on target. Daniel Ehrlichmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ansgar Röösli in the 68th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in FC Oberwil's zone, Johnny Högger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pier Lauzier came out of the goal and Johnny Högger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 72nd match minute, FC Oberwil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jasper Bonato to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Johnny Högger got free with Pier Lauzier in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pier Lauzier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manolo Bollhalder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Johnny Högger came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Kickers Luzern fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Johnny Högger couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manolo Bollhalder in the 81st minute of play forced FC Oberwil's goalkeeper Pier Lauzier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Dave Bremgartner fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kickers Luzern's protests and gave Dave Bremgartner a yellow card for diving instead. 82 minutes into the game, one of Kickers Luzern:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave FC Oberwil a penalty, 84 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Janis Bärtschi, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Kickers Luzern's Daniel Ehrlichmann. 3-1. Johnny Högger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Pier Lauzier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pier Lauzier was out of position in the 89 minute of play, and Manolo Bollhalder capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Manolo Bollhalder really showed his touch with that goal: 3-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manolo Bollhalder in the 97th minute of play forced FC Oberwil's goalkeeper Pier Lauzier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kickers Luzern's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
