Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5875, Seating: 1575, VIP seats: 50) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Salvatore Ruano took the kick off in the first half of the match. 6 minutes into the match, Eggersriet FC 89's goal looked a bit too open when Jaromir Fuchs came free, but Ingvar Hansen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 7 minutes into the match, Eduard Gschwind had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ingvar Hansen. Eggersriet FC 89's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eduard Gschwind was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Salvatore Ruano in the 10th minute of play forced Eggersriet FC 89's goalkeeper Ingvar Hansen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in FC Volketswil's zone, August Zwirn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Serge Frei came out of the goal and August Zwirn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Martial Gautschi in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Serge Frei saved FC Volketswil from getting behind. When Fred Waechter fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Eggersriet FC 89's protests and gave Fred Waechter a yellow card for diving instead. In the 19th match minute, Eggersriet FC 89 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fred Waechter to maneuver through the defense. Jaromir Fuchs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ingvar Hansen having to interfere. Eggersriet FC 89's Ingvar Hansen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eduard Gschwind in the 22nd minute of play. In the 25th minute Jaromir Fuchs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ingvar Hansen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ingvar Hansen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Salvatore Ruano in the 29th minute of play. If Martial Gautschi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. August Zwirn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Beniamino Jerzinger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. FC Volketswil's Serge Frei proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save FC Volketswil from getting a goal against them. August Zwirn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bennett Stalder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Serge Frei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eduard Gschwind's late challenge caught a Eggersriet FC 89's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eduard Gschwind helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to FC Volketswil getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Eduard Gschwind hit a great ball. August Zwirn kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Martial Gautschi to make the kick off. Serge Frei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martial Gautschi in the 57th minute of play. In the 59th minute, Martial Gautschi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eggersriet FC 89's Domingo Perathoner suffered a concussion in the 61st minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. When Gregor Scheidegger fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Volketswil's protests and gave Gregor Scheidegger a yellow card for diving instead. In the 63rd match minute, FC Volketswil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gregor Scheidegger to maneuver through the defense. Serge Frei came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Eggersriet FC 89's Beniamino Jerzinger. But to his dismay, Beniamino Jerzinger quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The supporters of FC Volketswil booed when Eggersriet FC 89 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martial Gautschi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Martial Gautschi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Serge Frei read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. Martial Gautschi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the match clock showed 79 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Martial Gautschi sped through FC Volketswil's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Serge Frei. Martial Gautschi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Serge Frei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Martial Gautschi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Eggersriet FC 89 had played much better football throughout.
