The audience thought a goal was coming when Mac Jäger got free with Serge Frei in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marlon Keiser in the 16th minute of play forced FC Volketswil's goalkeeper Serge Frei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19 minutes into the match, FC Volketswil's goal looked a bit too open when Raoul Vega came free, but Serge Frei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute, Gregor Scheidegger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 51st match minute, Flurlingen FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marlon Keiser to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 54 minutes, Mac Jäger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Flurlingen FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mac Jäger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Serge Frei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mac Jäger in the 65th minute of play. When Eduard Gschwind fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Volketswil's protests and gave Eduard Gschwind a yellow card for diving instead. In the 67th match minute, FC Volketswil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eduard Gschwind to maneuver through the defense. Flurlingen FC's Mac Jäger got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Markus Chassot's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Serge Frei was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. Serge Frei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mac Jäger in the 90th minute of the match. If Mac Jäger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Serge Frei didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marc Wyser went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Mac Jäger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Serge Frei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There was no doubt that Flurlingen FC were the better team. Flurlingen FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
