Bieito Iñigo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kai Kamarche went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Lugano's Bruno Guimarães got a free kick in the 8th minute. Bruno Guimarães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Lothaire Coccia fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lugano's protests and gave Lothaire Coccia a yellow card for diving instead. After 13 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Lugano! The referee gave Ufstieger Jungs a penalty, 15 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Forrester Frei, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Lugano's Lucius Berger. 1-1. Bieito Iñigo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kai Kamarche's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. A collision led to Ufstieger Jungs getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Graham Staffelbach hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kai Kamarche in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bieito Iñigo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lucius Berger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leopoldo Schoch in the 36th minute of the match. Bieito Iñigo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kai Kamarche in the 38th minute of play. Bruno Guimarães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 42 minutes into the match, Lugano's Kai Kamarche sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bieito Iñigo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 43 played minutes Ufstieger Jungs got a freekick which was hit by Leopoldo Schoch. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kai Kamarche made a kick off. Lucius Berger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harald Wilhelm in the 53rd minute of the match. In the 54th minute, Leopoldo Schoch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kai Kamarche in the 58th minute of play forced Ufstieger Jungs's goalkeeper Bieito Iñigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Harald Wilhelm kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. In the 61st minute Kai Kamarche shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bieito Iñigo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Harald Wilhelm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 64th minute, Lothaire Coccia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lucius Berger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harald Wilhelm, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 67 minutes, Kai Kamarche managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lugano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kai Kamarche was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Leopoldo Schoch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bieito Iñigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bruno Guimarães in the 71st minute of the match. The supporters of Ufstieger Jungs booed when Lugano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ken Pfulg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patrizio Huber might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bieito Iñigo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Patrizio Huber ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Guimarães in the 85th minute of play forced Ufstieger Jungs's goalkeeper Bieito Iñigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lucius Berger made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leopoldo Schoch in the 86th minute. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
