Spectators: 8333 (Terracing: 6332, Seating: 1941, VIP seats: 60) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Adamantios Vlastarakis got the match started through his kick off. In the 3rd match minute, Berne Wanderers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lamberto Riedweg to maneuver through the defense. Cláudio Taffarel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adamantios Vlastarakis's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. In the 9th minute, Andy Held hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 9 played minutes, Eschikofen's Luca Lepage shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cláudio Taffarel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Eschikofen reached it. In the 11th minute, Yanic Zimmermann made a precise shot to the right of Cláudio Taffarel. Berne Wanderers FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 16 minutes into the game, Berne Wanderers FC's Lamberto Riedweg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Raffaelo von Felten made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. A collision led to Eschikofen getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Kajetan Zweig hit a great ball. 21 minutes into the match, Berne Wanderers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Yanic Zimmermann came free, but Cláudio Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute Adamantios Vlastarakis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cláudio Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Walter Mueller charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Walter Mueller the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 27th minute, Walter Mueller hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Robby Schaer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Raffaelo von Felten tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 35 minutes into the match, Berne Wanderers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Yanic Zimmermann came free, but Cláudio Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The wind increased when Lamberto Riedweg made the kick off in the second half. Eschikofen's Raffaelo von Felten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lamberto Riedweg in the 53rd minute of play. Walter Mueller was shown his second yellow card after 54 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Walter Mueller hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Cláudio Taffarel was a little too slow when Marc Walder got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 57th minute. The score was now 1-2. After 59 played minutes Berne Wanderers FC got a freekick which was hit by Gautier Freuler. 61 minutes into the match, Berne Wanderers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Adamantios Vlastarakis came free, but Cláudio Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cláudio Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yanic Zimmermann, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Yanic Zimmermann got free with Cláudio Taffarel in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Nathan Waldburger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Berne Wanderers FC's Cláudio Taffarel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Berne Wanderers FC from getting a goal against them. After 76 minutes Berne Wanderers FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Hector Petroni who took care of the corner kick. It was a well-played corner which Luca Lepage managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Timon Lajoie during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 79 played minutes Eschikofen got a freekick which was hit by Timon Lajoie. After 83 played minutes Eschikofen got a freekick which was hit by Hector Petroni. 85 minutes into the game, Yanic Zimmermann recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Cláudio Taffarel. Yanic Zimmermann showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. Luca Lepage took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cláudio Taffarel. Cláudio Taffarel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Raffaelo von Felten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andy Held in the 94th minute of play. Eschikofen's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
