Karim Meier recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Lütmerken's Remi Mader got control of the ball when Robby Schaer tried to sneak it across the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Anthony Mader made a kick off. In the 54th minute Robby Schaer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remi Mader saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Berne Wanderers FC booed when Lütmerken was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stefano Labrie didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Lütmerken defense, Robby Schaer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Remi Mader. The Lütmerken fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Remi Mader should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anthony Mader in the 62nd minute of play forced Berne Wanderers FC's goalkeeper Cláudio Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Robby Schaer charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Giuseppe Langelier's late challenge caught a Berne Wanderers FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Giuseppe Langelier helped the player get up and apologised. In the 78th minute, Giuseppe Langelier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Remi Mader stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Benjy Gosselin's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. After 87 minutes of play, Berne Wanderers FC's Robby Schaer made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Remi Mader was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Lütmerken's zone, Andy Held stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Remi Mader came out of the goal and Andy Held tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Remi Mader took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andy Held, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Giuseppe Langelier kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Cláudio Taffarel. That made the score 3-2 in the 95 minute of play. Berne Wanderers FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
