Randolph Hörler kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Claude Racine's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Arndt Tittone firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Darius Eberhart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 15th match minute, Matélon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrien Werfel to maneuver through the defense. Matélon's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bottens the free kick. In the 27th match minute, Matélon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matthes Rager to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 28 minutes, Charles Zacchia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bottens's supporters crossed their fingers, but Charles Zacchia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Charles Zacchia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bottens's Charles Zacchia got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Chuck Moschen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Darius Eberhart, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 39 minutes into the game, Bottens's Darius Eberhart nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Chuck Moschen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 41 minutes into the game, Beltrame Arnold was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bottens's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Matélon the free kick. A collision led to Bottens getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Beltrame Arnold hit a great ball. Bottens's defense didn't have a chance, in the 46th minute, when Valentin Müller scored to the left of an out of position Arndt Tittone, making the score, 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Charles Zacchia made a kick off. Claude Racine received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Arndt Tittone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arndt Tittone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valentin Müller, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arndt Tittone showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valentin Müller in the 56th minute of the match. With a little luck, Matélon's Chuck Moschen got control of the ball when Darius Eberhart tried to sneak it across the goal line. Charles Zacchia ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Charles Zacchia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bottens's supporters rose to their feet, but Charles Zacchia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chuck Moschen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Adrien Werfel kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Thomas Mehri during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 68th minute, Thomas Mehri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Valentin Müller in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arndt Tittone saved Bottens from getting behind. In the 71st match minute, Bottens was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elijah Duplanty to maneuver through the defense. Karl Bleyer hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. After having played for 74 minutes, Valentin Müller managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Matélon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valentin Müller was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Darius Eberhart fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chuck Moschen having to interfere. In the 77th minute, Elijah Duplanty had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Darius Eberhart might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Chuck Moschen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Darius Eberhart ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 89th minute, Nico Gygax hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 94 minutes into the game, Claude Racine cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Arndt Tittone was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Bottens's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
