With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fremont Ettlin in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Roque Feliu saved Mittlersass from getting behind. Olympio Bürgler hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Christian Frankfurter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peppone Sperisen in the 11th minute of play. Christian Frankfurter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Janos Cacciatore, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 14 played minutes Fc Olten got a freekick which was hit by Poldi Schenk. Roque Feliu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fremont Ettlin in the 21st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Poldi Schenk managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fc Olten's supporters rose to their feet, but Poldi Schenk was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roque Feliu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fc Olten were furious when Solomon Ehrler was red carded, 27 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 26 minutes into the game, one of Fc Olten:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 32 minutes into the match, Fc Olten's goal looked a bit too open when Carlo Mächler came free, but Christian Frankfurter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Christian Frankfurter was out of position in the 37 minute of play, and Janos Cacciatore capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Janos Cacciatore really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Mittlersass's Roque Feliu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Poldi Schenk in the 41st minute of play. Fc Olten's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Janos Cacciatore 43 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-0. In the 47th minute Peppone Sperisen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Frankfurter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joakim Kellman to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Poldi Schenk got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 57th minute, Heinrich Rütsche fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Roque Feliu, passed just outside the right post. The supporters of Mittlersass booed when Fc Olten was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Frankfurter dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Mittlersass's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
