After 25 minutes of play, Suruç's Maximilien Siedler made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximilien Siedler in the 34th minute of play forced Yggdrasil's goalkeeper Elari Veide to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 36th minute Jordano Laberge suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. 36 minutes into the game, Noah Barbey was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Yggdrasil's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Suruç the free kick.
