The FC Thun 1898 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Farid Finger should have stopped the shot. Kenan Padula sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Farid Finger made an important save on a dangerous shot by Timothy Liniger in the 14th minute. Henri Stinde recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Basilius Saluz struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Emanuele Buschor didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Thun 1898. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olivier Bizier in the 20th minute of play forced FC Thun 1898's goalkeeper Farid Finger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Maxence Schlatter took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Farid Finger to make any attempt to save it. Swissport AFC's Emanuele Buschor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henri Stinde in the 29th minute of play. Farid Finger stood somewhat misplaced when Olivier Bizier came free in front of goal and shot 4-0 to the left of him in the 31 minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vito Bossard got free with Farid Finger in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Östen Svanér took a quick shot and it went in 6-0 without a chance for Farid Finger to make any attempt to save it. Af the end of the first half the score was 6-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Olivier Bizier made the kick off in the second half. Farid Finger stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Olivier Bizier's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. When Vito Bossard fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Swissport AFC's protests and gave Vito Bossard a yellow card for diving instead. In the 58th minute, Vito Bossard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 59th minute, Basilius Saluz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 61 minutes into the match, Basilius Saluz notched a goal, 6-1, to the right of Swissport AFC's Emanuele Buschor. Emanuele Buschor was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 65 played minutes FC Thun 1898 got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Lehmann. Ivan Lehmann kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. In the 69th match minute, FC Thun 1898 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Lehmann to maneuver through the defense. 72 minutes into the match, FC Thun 1898's goal looked a bit too open when Olivier Bizier came free, but Farid Finger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Swissport AFC booed when FC Thun 1898 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivan Lehmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 78th minute Östen Svanér shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Farid Finger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ivan Lehmann got his second yellow card in the match during the 87th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to FC Thun 1898 getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. FC Thun 1898's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
