FC Thun 1898's LucaLucan Waldburger managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Servatius Dové in the 15 minute of the game. Giusto Gut made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basilius Saluz in the 18th minute of play. FC Thun 1898's Farid Finger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save FC Thun 1898 from getting a goal against them. A collision led to FC Thun 1898 getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Wilbur Borer hit a great ball. Giusto Gut showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Basilius Saluz in the 42nd minute of the match. 42 minutes into the game, Basilius Saluz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Giusto Gut was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 48th minute, Basilius Saluz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Giusto Gut was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. The Safenwil AC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC Thun 1898 were winning 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Elmar Renkewitz to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elmar Renkewitz in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Farid Finger saved FC Thun 1898 from getting behind. Felix Isaak's late challenge caught a FC Thun 1898's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Felix Isaak helped the player get up and apologised. Felix Isaak hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Elmar Renkewitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 66th match minute, Safenwil AC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Servatius Dové to maneuver through the defense. After 69 played minutes FC Thun 1898 got a freekick which was hit by Wilbur Borer. After 71st play minutes Elmar Renkewitz shot 2-2, a short shot which went by Farid Finger and just under the crossbar into goal. After a rather tough play, Safenwil AC's Korbin Spörri got a free kick in the 91st minute. Giusto Gut made an important save on a dangerous shot by Basilius Saluz in the 99th minute. FC Thun 1898 were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
