In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chancy's goalkeeper Robin Rüegg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Robin Rüegg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Duong Gruenenfelder's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Claudio Baum received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Robin Rüegg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 28th minute of the game. One of Chancy:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Lionel hay uno solo:s goal. Ferris Willi shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Domingo Berger blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Robin Rüegg having to make a save. Through an outstanding action, after 32 minutes, Robin Rüegg successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 33rd minute, Lionel hay uno solo's Duong Gruenenfelder dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Chancy's Robin Rüegg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Duong Gruenenfelder in the 39th minute of play. In the 40th minute Duong Gruenenfelder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robin Rüegg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 46 minutes into the match, Lionel hay uno solo's Duong Gruenenfelder sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Robin Rüegg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Simon Straumann was the one to do the kick off. Pascal Gosselin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernard Cimini having to interfere. Lionel hay uno solo made a substitution. Gerard Heinzmann replaced Claudio Baum. After a rather tough play, Chancy's Benjamin Forcucci got a free kick in the 71st minute. Ferris Willi, 72 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Duong Gruenenfelder scored 2-0 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Robin Rüegg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Placidus Marti kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Robin Rüegg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Duong Gruenenfelder's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Robin Rüegg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Duong Gruenenfelder, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. The supporters of Lionel hay uno solo booed when Chancy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alphonse Durrer didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Duong Gruenenfelder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chancy's Simon Straumann got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Simon Straumann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
