The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the game, Quentin Schmidlin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mjöllnir's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Suruç the free kick. After 3 played minutes Mjöllnir got a freekick which was hit by Quentin Schmidlin. Dick Chauvet came free with the goalkeeper in the 6th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Marc Brand could save by the left post. Mjöllnir's Marc Brand played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benoit Luthiger in the 8th minute of play. Suruç's Thoralf Ferber quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Dominik Dubois, made in the 9th minute of the game. Marc Brand made an important save on a dangerous shot by Thoralf Ferber in the 10th minute. Suruç's Enrico Peter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Didier Bonenfant in the 13th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, Mjöllnir's goal looked a bit too open when Benoit Luthiger came free, but Marc Brand reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marc Brand made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olivier Jakobeit in the 19th minute of play. Enrico Peter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Quentin Schmidlin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Enrico Peter came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Mjöllnir's Didier Bonenfant. But to his dismay, Didier Bonenfant quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 26th minute, Suruç's Olivier Jakobeit ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marc Brand. Marc Brand yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Thoralf Ferber took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marc Brand. Marc Brand dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. In the 33rd match minute, Mjöllnir was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Quentin Schmidlin to maneuver through the defense. Mjöllnir's Marc Brand proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Mjöllnir from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Mjöllnir's Marc Brand got control of the ball when Dick Chauvet tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Benoit Luthiger kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marc Brand. That made the score 3-1 in the 37 minute of play. Marc Brand made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Benoit Luthiger sent off a good shot on target. Enrico Peter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Didier Bonenfant in the 47th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Didier Bonenfant stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Quentin Schmidlin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Suruç getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Dick Chauvet hit a great ball. 55 minutes into the match, Suruç's goalkeeper Enrico Peter had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ralf Scenna. Enrico Peter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Didier Bonenfant in the 57th minute of play. 61 minutes into the match, Suruç's goalkeeper Enrico Peter had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Quentin Schmidlin. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benoit Luthiger in the 86th minute of play forced Mjöllnir's goalkeeper Marc Brand to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benoit Luthiger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 92 minutes of play, Suruç's Thoralf Ferber made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marc Brand was left in no man's land by his defense there! There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Suruç fully deserved thier win.
