In the 22ndth minute of the game Scott Herz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cala's Moritz Wechsler was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Moritz Wechsler made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Luca Saenger sent off a good shot on target. Arnaldo Walthert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armand Theijs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hemmersbacher SV's Arnaldo Walthert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo López in the 31st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armand Theijs in the 34th minute of play forced Hemmersbacher SV's goalkeeper Arnaldo Walthert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Moritz Wechsler made an important save on a dangerous shot by Scott Herz in the 36th minute. 40 minutes into the game, Scott Herz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Moritz Wechsler. Scott Herz showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Arnaldo Walthert didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pierre Van Geertruyden went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Rory Restaino kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. In the 55th minute Scott Herz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Moritz Wechsler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Oskar Brandenberger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Moritz Wechsler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Hemmersbacher SV booed when Cala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josué Ramos didn't get a good kick on the ball.
