With a little luck, Chancy Olympique's Alex Méret got control of the ball when Alain Berset tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 11th minute, Nino Schurter reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Alex Méret. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 14th minute, Teofil Soszka hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Espen Steelers's Williams Imholz shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 14th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Alex Méret but with some difficulty. Teofil Soszka kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Pastor Dominix's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gregor Kobel was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Ingo Minder hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. A collision led to Chancy Olympique getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Pastor Dominix hit a great ball. In the 24th minute, Nino Schurter left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Espen Steelers fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Alain Berset put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Alex Méret. Chancy Olympique's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Teofil Soszka in the 46th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nino Schurter made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nino Schurter in the 51st minute of play forced Chancy Olympique's goalkeeper Alex Méret to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Espen Steelers booed when Chancy Olympique was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lazlo Lauzier didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alex Méret made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nino Schurter in the 52nd minute of play. Espen Steelers's Patricio Clerc was substituted for Williams Imholz. Espen Steelers's Ştefan Lupea was substituted for Rogelio Montez. After a rather tough play, Chancy Olympique's Teofil Soszka got a free kick in the 67th minute. 68 minutes into the match, Chancy Olympique's goal looked a bit too open when Nino Schurter came free, but Alex Méret reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Espen Steelers fans' excitement grew in the 73rd match minute when Espen Steelers's Alain Berset looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Teofil Soszka took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 92nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gregor Kobel. Espen Steelers's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Moisés Mangas received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gregor Kobel came out and tried to block the shot, but Moisés Mangas slotted it home off the left post making it 4-1 in the 95th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Chancy Olympique players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Espen Steelers.
