A well-hit corner resulted in Lenny Traugott heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 40th minute, Stephan Eichenberger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Irwin Monney's late challenge caught a Chancy Olympique's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Irwin Monney helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Chancy Olympique booed when Zelg FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Irwin Monney didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Zelg FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 52nd minute of the game Ozan Kabaks made a throw-in which Lou Deans played forward. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Moisés Mangas in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sepp Mainville prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 55 minutes Zelg FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Teofil Soszka who took care of the corner kick. Jonas Herz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Alex Méret tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Zelg FC's Gilles Clerc slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Alex Méret. That made the score 0-2 after 59 minutes of play. In the 65th minute Moisés Mangas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sepp Mainville saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 69 played minutes Chancy Olympique got a freekick which was hit by Pastor Dominix. A sloppy throw-in by Ilgaz Ankaralı in the 71st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Zelg FC's Stephan Eichenberger. In the 72nd match minute, Zelg FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lenny Traugott to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Teofil Soszka managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chancy Olympique's supporters rose to their feet, but Teofil Soszka was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sepp Mainville breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Teofil Soszka's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sepp Mainville read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play.
