He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Essen's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 10th minute, Gustave Van Havent fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Essen's Willy Tubbackx proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Essen from getting a goal against them. Dante Van Menen struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Willy Tubbackx didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fc jawadde. If Jullian Van Eijcke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute, Jullian Van Eijcke left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fc jawadde fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 23rd minute, Gustave Van Havent fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Willy Tubbackx showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gunter De Kerper, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Jullian Van Eijcke kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 27thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Essen's keeper Willy Tubbackx was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Pieterjan Figaro hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Ronny Verlinden's late challenge caught a Fc jawadde's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ronny Verlinden helped the player get up and apologised. After 35 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Essen! Willy Tubbackx stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gunter De Kerper's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. If Gustave Van Havent had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dante Van Menen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jullian Van Eijcke in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Willy Tubbackx prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 53 minutes into the match, Essen's goal looked a bit too open when Dante Van Menen came free, but Willy Tubbackx reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Willy Tubbackx stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gustave Van Havent's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. Dante Van Menen might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Willy Tubbackx. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dante Van Menen ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 56th match minute, Essen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pieterjan Figaro to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Jullian Van Eijcke's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Willy Tubbackx was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. A collision led to Essen getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Antoine Saelens hit a great ball. After 62 minutes Essen's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. Fc jawadde's Ramon Koppens got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 78th minute, Frits Schoovaerts hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Ronny Verlinden from long distance, 79 minutes into the match, got Tommi Lanphant's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Frits Schoovaerts didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jullian Van Eijcke in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Willy Tubbackx saved Essen from getting behind. Octaaf Staes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willy Tubbackx having to interfere. Fc jawadde walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
