Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anthoon Goovaerts in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joonas Vooremäe prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Manchester United getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Yanis Liebrechts hit a great ball. If Kasper Lanen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jason Hylen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 22 played minutes Manchester United got a freekick which was hit by Charles-Antoine Acke. Anthoon Goovaerts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joonas Vooremäe having to interfere. A well placed Remi Decoster short distance shot in the 27th minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. Maffle's Edmond Cappels played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kasper Lanen in the 33rd minute of play. If Jason Hylen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edmond Cappels didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kasper Lanen went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Laurent Berghmans hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Manchester United's Kasper Lanen got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kasper Lanen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kasper Lanen got free with Edmond Cappels in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Manchester United defense, Anthoon Goovaerts kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joonas Vooremäe. The Manchester United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joonas Vooremäe should have stopped the shot. The Maffle players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
