Spectators: 6730 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Stefaan De Fever started the match with the kick off. Richard Englebert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ronny Weijnants hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Bob Van De Ven kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Stefaan De Fever received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Lauren Rauvoets tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 24 played minutes Marbais got a freekick which was hit by Gilbert Velkeneers. Nicolaas Thielens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alain Sempels, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. The supporters of KAA Tieheide booed when Marbais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Willem-Jan Vissenaeken didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in KAA Tieheide's zone, Nick Sterckmans stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lauren Rauvoets came out of the goal and Nick Sterckmans tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 37 minutes into the match, KAA Tieheide's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Englebert came free, but Lauren Rauvoets reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Richard Englebert took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lauren Rauvoets. Lauren Rauvoets dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Richard Englebert scored 1-2 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lauren Rauvoets, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alain Sempels stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peter-Jan De Bisschop in the 51st minute of play forced Marbais's goalkeeper Nicolaas Thielens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Richard Englebert managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marbais's supporters rose to their feet, but Richard Englebert was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lauren Rauvoets breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Stefaan De Fever kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lauren Rauvoets. That made the score 1-3 in the 65 minute of play. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Stefaan De Fever took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Lauren Rauvoets to make any attempt to save it. Lauren Rauvoets made an important save on a dangerous shot by Richard Englebert in the 84th minute. 89 minutes into the match, Marbais's goal looked a bit too open when Peter-Jan De Bisschop came free, but Nicolaas Thielens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gust Van Aarschot struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Nicolaas Thielens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KAA Tieheide. The Marbais supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Marbais would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
