The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 played minutes KFC Balgerhoeke got a freekick which was hit by Garry Stocks. KFC Balgerhoeke's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maurice Neef was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 22nd minute, one of Heers:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Heers. After having played for 27 minutes, Andreas Puttemas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Heers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andreas Puttemas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Samuel Flocquier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerrit De Mayer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Heers's Cederique Godefroid played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luuk Decaluwe in the 31st minute of play. Refael Van Hoght hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Andreas Puttemas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Heers's supporters rose to their feet, but Andreas Puttemas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Samuel Flocquier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 45 played minutes KFC Balgerhoeke got a freekick which was hit by Florian Le Page. After the first half KFC Balgerhoeke were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Maurice Neef made a kick off. After some careless play in the KFC Balgerhoeke defense, Gerrit De Mayer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Samuel Flocquier. The KFC Balgerhoeke fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Samuel Flocquier should have stopped the shot. In the 64th match minute, KFC Balgerhoeke was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mattheo Volders to maneuver through the defense. 67 minutes into the match, KFC Balgerhoeke's goal looked a bit too open when Andreas Puttemas came free, but Samuel Flocquier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Heers booed when KFC Balgerhoeke was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mattheo Volders didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gerrit De Mayer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Flocquier having to interfere. Samuel Flocquier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerrit De Mayer in the 71st minute of play. In the 72nd minute, Andreas Puttemas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Gerrit De Mayer put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Samuel Flocquier. Mattheo Volders was shown his second yellow card after 78 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 78 played minutes KFC Balgerhoeke got a freekick which was hit by Mattheo Volders. Samuel Flocquier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerrit De Mayer in the 79th minute of play. Samuel Flocquier stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gerrit De Mayer's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. Gerrit De Mayer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Flocquier having to interfere. Refael Van Hoght's late challenge caught a Heers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Refael Van Hoght helped the player get up and apologised. In the 88th match minute, KFC Balgerhoeke was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Refael Van Hoght to maneuver through the defense. If Andreas Puttemas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Heers's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
