If Axell Van Gertsuyden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to ARSENAL getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Tim-Jan Stuyck hit a great ball. Oscar Van haeck could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Edmond Van de Velde made a huge save. 35 minutes into the match, ARSENAL's goal looked a bit too open when Axell Van Gertsuyden came free, but Jean Wuets reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peter Engelborgh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Jean Wuets tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tim-Jan Stuyck hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Birger Ramps took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 40th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jean Wuets. ARSENAL's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The supporters of ARSENAL booed when Bellevue was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnold Van Geertruyden didn't get a good kick on the ball. Andries De Keysers short, quick shot in the 46thth minute got Edmond Van de Velde to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Axell Van Gertsuyden to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Axell Van Gertsuyden made a precise shot to the right of Jean Wuets. ARSENAL's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. The audience was convinced that Andries De Keyser's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edmond Van de Velde was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. In the 90th match minute, ARSENAL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dany Huijbreghts to maneuver through the defense. 91 minutes into the game, Axell Van Gertsuyden was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
