An unexpectedly hard shot by Laurence Valckx in the 4th minute of play forced SC Wolvertem's goalkeeper Arthur-Maurits Deflandre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8th minute Amaury Van den Berghe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arthur-Maurits Deflandre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hendrik-Jan Van dooren in the 13th minute of play forced SC Wolvertem's goalkeeper Arthur-Maurits Deflandre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 15 minutes into the game, Amaury Van den Berghe cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Arthur-Maurits Deflandre was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the SC Wolvertem defense, Hendrik-Jan Van dooren kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arthur-Maurits Deflandre. The SC Wolvertem fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arthur-Maurits Deflandre should have stopped the shot. Vic de Pelsmaecker came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by SC Wolvertem's Paul-Louis De Rijck. But to his dismay, Paul-Louis De Rijck quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nicolaas Schoutens during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 33rd match minute, SC Wolvertem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicolaas Schoutens to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in SC Wolvertem's zone, Benne De Rudder stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arthur-Maurits Deflandre came out of the goal and Benne De Rudder tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 39th minute, Paul-Louis De Rijck left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Wolvertem fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. Amaury Van den Berghe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Arthur-Maurits Deflandre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arthur-Maurits Deflandre took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Waut Torfs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 2-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paul-Louis De Rijck to make the kick off. Arthur-Maurits Deflandre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amaury Van den Berghe in the 52nd minute of play. SC Wolvertem's Arthur-Maurits Deflandre proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save SC Wolvertem from getting a goal against them. Arthur-Maurits Deflandre made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Hendrik-Jan Van dooren sent off a good shot on target. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 59th minute of the game. One of SC Wolvertem:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Furia Roja:s goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tommy Vandekerkhove during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 67 minutes into the match, SC Wolvertem's goal looked a bit too open when Hendrik-Jan Van dooren came free, but Arthur-Maurits Deflandre reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mario De Rudder's late challenge caught a SC Wolvertem's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mario De Rudder helped the player get up and apologised. After 74 played minutes Furia Roja got a freekick which was hit by Mario De Rudder. If Antoine Hacke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an all-out effort, Furia Roja's Arthur-Maurits Deflandre threw himself towards the right post 77 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Amaury Van den Berghe, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Arthur-Maurits Deflandre took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laurence Valckx, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to SC Wolvertem getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Philip Van den Berghe hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, SC Wolvertem's Jeoffrey Wilmots got a free kick in the 91st minute. Waut Torfs could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Arthur-Maurits Deflandre made a huge save. SC Wolvertem's Paul-Louis De Rijck got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 100th minute, Philip Van den Berghe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Furia Roja played a much better game than SC Wolvertem and deserved their victory. The SC Wolvertem players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
