The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Furia Roja booed when SC Wolvertem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antoine Hacke didn't get a good kick on the ball. Antoine Hacke charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Antoine Hacke the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 6th minute, Antoine Hacke hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benne De Rudder took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 6th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Arthur-Maurits Deflandre. SC Wolvertem's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Arthur-Maurits Deflandre made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Waut Torfs sent off a good shot on target. Furia Roja's Mario De Rudder shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 10th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Arthur-Maurits Deflandre but with some difficulty. Tommy Vandekerkhove's late challenge caught a Furia Roja's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tommy Vandekerkhove helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 12th minute of the game. One of SC Wolvertem:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Furia Roja:s goal. Paul-Louis De Rijck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Vic de Pelsmaecker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arthur-Maurits Deflandre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laurence Valckx in the 37th minute of play. In the 42nd match minute, SC Wolvertem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tommy Vandekerkhove to maneuver through the defense. Philip Van den Berghe's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vic de Pelsmaecker read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. Arthur-Maurits Deflandre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laurence Valckx in the 48th minute of play.

The wind increased when Amaury Van den Berghe made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Amaury Van den Berghe in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arthur-Maurits Deflandre prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Arthur-Maurits Deflandre took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Waut Torfs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Furia Roja's Waut Torfs in the 58th minute got a chance for a shot 58th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Wolvertem's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amaury Van den Berghe in the 60th minute of play forced SC Wolvertem's goalkeeper Arthur-Maurits Deflandre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Paul-Louis De Rijck managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Wolvertem's supporters rose to their feet, but Paul-Louis De Rijck was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vic de Pelsmaecker breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 69th minute, Laurence Valckx ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arthur-Maurits Deflandre was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Arthur-Maurits Deflandre showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Waut Torfs in the 76th minute of the match. If Aaron De Maerschalckx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Waut Torfs in the 93rd minute of play forced SC Wolvertem's goalkeeper Arthur-Maurits Deflandre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amaury Van den Berghe struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Arthur-Maurits Deflandre didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Furia Roja. Furia Roja's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
