When SC Fernelmont's Marnix Struijf in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Berlaar's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of SC Fernelmont booed when FC Berlaar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mathieux De Mare tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlos Brabant took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 12th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mathieux De Mare. SC Fernelmont's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 14th minute of the game. One of FC Berlaar:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SC Fernelmont:s goal. Philip De Kelper received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Mathieux De Mare tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Philip De Kelper managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Berlaar's supporters rose to their feet, but Philip De Kelper was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mathieux De Mare breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 25th minute Marnix Struijf shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teo Van De Broeck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Teo Van De Broeck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marnix Struijf, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. If Matthieu Van Gysel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rein Van Boxstael received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Mathieux De Mare tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marnix Struijf stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Marnix Struijf got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Charlie Ketelers charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Charlie Ketelers the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Philip De Kelper recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 80th minute, Matthieu Van Gysel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 81 minutes into the match, FC Berlaar's goal looked a bit too open when Marnix Struijf came free, but Teo Van De Broeck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Arnout Pelegrims fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Berlaar's protests and gave Arnout Pelegrims a yellow card for diving instead. Teo Van De Broeck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matthieu Van Gysel in the 94th minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The SC Fernelmont fans cheered their team off the field, for while FC Berlaar had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
