Evert-Jan Van Eede made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After having played for 20 minutes, Johannes De Meulder managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nickopolis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Johannes De Meulder was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 22 played minutes Nickopolis got a freekick which was hit by Ward Van Den Linden. Pieterjan Valckenaerts charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pieterjan Valckenaerts the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Pieterjan Valckenaerts kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Mark Volle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johannes De Meulder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Johannes De Meulder was the one to do the kick off. During the 80th minute of the match Pieterjan Valckenaerts completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Pieterjan Valckenaerts a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Stichelen's Pieterjan Valckenaerts got a free kick in the 81st minute. 92 minutes into the match, Nickopolis's goalkeeper Evert-Jan Van Eede had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Berten Goethals. Evert-Jan Van Eede made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Berten Goethals sent off a good shot on target. Stichelen were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Nickopolis's much stronger midfield.
