In the 11thth minute of the game Bartjan Deman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Gerda Waasland SN's Mark Engelbert was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 15th minute, Boris Tailleur got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Louis Huijberechts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johny Van Halbeeck having to interfere. Alfons Terhorst could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Johny Van Halbeeck made a huge save. 27 minutes into the match, Arlon's goal looked a bit too open when Louis Huijberechts came free, but Johny Van Halbeeck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Boris Tailleur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Boris Tailleur kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Johny Van Halbeeck. That made the score 1-0 in the 33 minute of play. In the 38th minute, Boris Tailleur got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bartjan Deman blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mark Engelbert having to make a save. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Louis Huijberechts to make the kick off. When Joannes van Eijnde fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Gerda Waasland SN's protests and gave Joannes van Eijnde a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Arlon booed when FC Gerda Waasland SN was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfons Terhorst didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Arlon's Jordi Hensmans got a free kick in the 85th minute. After recieving a nice pass, FC Gerda Waasland SN's Frederick Kindt tried to score from far away in the 86th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 87 minutes into the game, Bernt Van Meel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Arlon's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Gerda Waasland SN the free kick. Arlon succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though FC Gerda Waasland SN had controlled the match.
