Spectators: 6705 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1705, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Romain De Pauw started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd match minute, Laarne was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joost Landewijck to maneuver through the defense. If Thommy Debecker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Guy Van den Haute in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kenneth Uytebroeck saved SC Beyne-Heusay from getting behind. Kenneth Uytebroeck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guy Van den Haute in the 10th minute of play. Kenneth Uytebroeck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guy Van den Haute, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thommy Debecker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Kenneth Uytebroeck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guy Van den Haute fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kenneth Uytebroeck having to interfere. Kenny Wigers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romain De Pauw, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kenny Wigers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romain De Pauw in the 22nd minute of play. In the 24th minute Thommy Debecker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kenneth Uytebroeck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. SC Beyne-Heusay's Romain De Pauw got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 29 minutes into the game, Laarne's Guy Van den Haute nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kenneth Uytebroeck made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Xander-Paul den Ronden during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 32 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Laarne! Georges Ryers shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. The throw-in from Octaaf Vrins in the 36th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Laarne's Gregorie Owerckx. Thommy Debecker blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kenneth Uytebroeck having to make a save. If Guy Van den Haute had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41stth minute of the game Guy Van den Haute who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Beyne-Heusay's Kenneth Uytebroeck was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Guy Van den Haute took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kenneth Uytebroeck. Kenneth Uytebroeck dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Guy Van den Haute made a kick off. Kenneth Uytebroeck made an important save on a dangerous shot by Guy Van den Haute in the 54th minute. Guy Van den Haute received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Kenneth Uytebroeck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thommy Debecker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, SC Beyne-Heusay's Kenneth Uytebroeck got control of the ball when Guy Van den Haute tried to sneak it across the goal line. The attack was good, but when Guy Van den Haute in the 60th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Thommy Debecker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A hard shot 68 in the game by Guy Van den Haute from a close distance when the talented Kenneth Uytebroeck managed to make a qualified save. SC Beyne-Heusay's players were relieved. The audience was convinced that Guy Van den Haute's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kenneth Uytebroeck was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. In the 71st minute, SC Beyne-Heusay's Ludo Kerkhofs seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ludo Kerkhofs the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of SC Beyne-Heusay protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ludo Kerkhofs had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. If Thommy Debecker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 81 minutes into the game, Rolf Saelens was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Laarne's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Beyne-Heusay the free kick. Rolf Saelens hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Laarne's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
