After 23 minutes, Yoachim Van Bouschot mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the BLUE-ARMY and the KVSK Herentals players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rickard Ahlroht tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Balthazar Debrouwere might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rickard Ahlroht. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Balthazar Debrouwere ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 64th minute of the match KVSK Herentals got a corner. BLUE-ARMY's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Werner Bossuyt ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 66th minute, Boudewijn Asselberghs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to KVSK Herentals getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Gunther Goons hit a great ball. Flávio Maranhense recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rickard Ahlroht showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Norbert Van De Wijngaert in the 75th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in KVSK Herentals's zone, Flávio Maranhense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Steve Poelmans came out of the goal and Flávio Maranhense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 79th minute, Flávio Maranhense got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Flávio Maranhense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Robbie Knockaert in the 83rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Steve Poelmans, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Steve Poelmans made an important save on a dangerous shot by Robbie Knockaert in the 87th minute. 92 minutes into the match, Robbie Knockaert had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Steve Poelmans. KVSK Herentals's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Robbie Knockaert was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. BLUE-ARMY played a much better game than KVSK Herentals and deserved their victory. The KVSK Herentals players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
