When Laurenz De Metser fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored KSV Zaffelare's protests and gave Laurenz De Metser a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to KSV Zaffelare getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Laurenz De Metser hit a great ball. Birger Taverniers's late challenge caught a KSV Zaffelare's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Birger Taverniers helped the player get up and apologised. After 20 played minutes KVSK Poelberg got a freekick which was hit by Birger Taverniers. Francois Coeckelberghs took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Birger Taverniers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kenneth Delen had several of the KSV Zaffelare's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 29 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Francois Coeckelberghs as he didn't even see the shot coming. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Thomas-Jan Van Eyck managed to get in a good position for a shot. KSV Zaffelare's supporters rose to their feet, but Thomas-Jan Van Eyck was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Laurens Debecker breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 36 minutes into the match, Thomas-Jan Van Eyck notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of KVSK Poelberg's Laurens Debecker. Laurens Debecker was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 39 minutes into the match, Kenneth Delen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Francois Coeckelberghs. KSV Zaffelare's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kenneth Delen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Thomas-Jan Van Eyck stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes KSV Zaffelare got a freekick which was hit by Albert Leroy. 56 minutes into the game, Birger Taverniers cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Francois Coeckelberghs was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jerom Uijtterhoeven's late challenge caught a KSV Zaffelare's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jerom Uijtterhoeven helped the player get up and apologised. After 58 played minutes KVSK Poelberg got a freekick which was hit by Jerom Uijtterhoeven. Wout Meulemans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Laurens Debecker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thomas-Jan Van Eyck, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. 83 minutes into the match, KSV Zaffelare's Wout Meulemans sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Laurens Debecker narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Kenneth Delen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francois Coeckelberghs having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the KSV Zaffelare players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for KVSK Poelberg.
