Vinkwijk's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave K.F.C. Diarree the free kick. A collision led to Vinkwijk getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Dries Rondas hit a great ball. K.F.C. Diarree's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Remi Demarez 10 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. K.F.C. Diarree's Patrik De Beer got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 17th minute, Patrik De Beer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 21 played minutes, K.F.C. Diarree's Luukas Gelens shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Glenn Van Glabeeke came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in K.F.C. Diarree reached it. If Patrik De Beer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Stijn Engels's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Glenn Van Glabeeke was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. 34 minutes into the game, Thierry Van de Put was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. K.F.C. Diarree's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vinkwijk the free kick. Pieterjan Verbeeck succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 38th playminute. After a rather tough play, K.F.C. Diarree's Jannis van der Eycken got a free kick in the 44th minute. Toon Huybreghts's late challenge caught a Vinkwijk's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Toon Huybreghts helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to K.F.C. Diarree getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Toon Huybreghts hit a great ball. Pieterjan Verbeeck spun around in front of the goal 50 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of K.F.C. Diarree's goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The wind increased when Remi Demarez made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Vinkwijk's Berten Tkint got a free kick in the 54th minute. Jammy Schrevens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pieterjan Verbeeck in the 61st minute of the match. If Stijn Engels had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute, Stijn Engels made a precise shot to the right of Glenn Van Glabeeke. Vinkwijk's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. Remi Demarez might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jammy Schrevens. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Remi Demarez ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Vinkwijk booed when K.F.C. Diarree was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xavier Seveneijns didn't get a good kick on the ball. Remi Demarez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jammy Schrevens having to interfere. After 96 minutes, Xavier Seveneijns mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the K.F.C. Diarree and the Vinkwijk players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 96 played minutes K.F.C. Diarree got a freekick which was hit by Xavier Seveneijns. Pieterjan Verbeeck recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Remi Demarez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 100th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. K.F.C. Diarree's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
