Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 13 minutes into the match, FC Kazakkendraaiers's goal looked a bit too open when Laureano Hubieta came free, but Emile Meeus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Giovanny Kortens's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Emile Meeus was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. 17 minutes into the match, Ronald Van den Plas dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Roel Schouters, 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Giovanny Kortens in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emile Meeus saved FC Kazakkendraaiers from getting behind. Sint Haecht's supporters rose to their feet, but Henry Reiniers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emile Meeus breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 37 minutes into the match, Laureano Hubieta had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emile Meeus. FC Kazakkendraaiers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Laureano Hubieta was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. FC Kazakkendraaiers's Emile Meeus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bill Brabant in the 42nd minute of play. The Sint Haecht fans' excitement grew in the 47th match minute when Sint Haecht's Laureano Hubieta looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.

Emile Meeus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giovanny Kortens, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. After some careless play in the FC Kazakkendraaiers defense, Karl Neesens kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Emile Meeus. The FC Kazakkendraaiers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emile Meeus should have stopped the shot. A collision led to FC Kazakkendraaiers getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Robben Reijers hit a great ball. Sint Haecht's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
